Imran Khan

Imran Khan: A tabla artist and instructor for Kalavant Center for Music and Dance in New York, began his musical training with his grandfather and guru, Ustad Raheman Khan.  Later he trained intensively under his uncle, Ustad Kadar Khan. Imran Khan has given lecture/demonstrations at New York University, Manhattan School of Music, Yale University, and New Jersey State University. He has also performed with leading musicians at Symphony Space and The Town Hall in New York City.  He was recently featured on a Sigma Classics recording with the Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble, entitled “Scenes of Spirits”. 

Since the age of 12 he has been taking part in music competitions, always taking the first prize. He has also performed for All India Radio and in various music festivals. This is what the press reviews say about him:

Having performed extensively in USA, and India, he has performed with well known musicians, namely, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, Deepsankar Bhattacharjee, Vidushi Uma Garg, Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan, and many more.
