Deepsankar Bhattacharjee

"Sur-Moni" Deepsankar, a young sitarist born in the year 1986, is 5th generation sitarist of his musical family. He started his musical career from his tender age under the guidance of his father Pandit Hara Shankar Bhattacharya and also receiving lessons from his dadaguru Padmabhusahan Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan Sahab. He is the torch bearer of Jafferkhani Bazz (Indore Gharana). His mother Smt.Parul Bhattacharya was the Disciple of Late Pandit A.T.Kanan. Deepsankar has performed at various Concerts in India and abroad including New York, Switzerland, Germany, Holland and many other places"

His soft and delicate style coupled with the precision, clarity, and consistency of tabla playing embodies the true virtuosity of a talented musician.
